How to Join

Membership in Silverthorn Symphonic Winds is by invitation. When openings arise, we invite prospective members to join us for an audition/probation period of four rehearsals. Due to our small size and our rotation of parts, each player must have advanced musical skills. Our repertoire is challenging; it requires both rehearsal time and time spent in individual preparation outside of rehearsal. We seek musicians who share our love of wind ensemble music and our commitment to performance excellence.

Each member pays a modest annual membership fee and is expected to volunteer in some way to assist with the operations of the organization.

There are currently vacancies in the following positions:

• Flute
• Bassoon
• French Horn
• Baritone Saxophone
• Tuba
• Percussion

If we do not have a current opening for your instrument, we will be happy to put your name on a list to be considered in the event of future openings or when substitute musicians are needed.
